Christmas gifts!!!!

Newsboy hats for my nieces... I need to get a better picture of the flower on the pink hat.  It has the cutest button in the middle.

Warm, toasty, cosy hat for my father-in-law.

A matching hat and cowl for my sister-in-law.  I made this up as went so it is truly custom.   I hope that is a good thing!

My dad has recently started flying planes again and I was attempting to make him a version of an aviator hat.  I had no pattern for this so I gave it my best shot.  Not sure it is what I pictured, but it was so funny looking we all agreed it was too cute.  Now this is more then custom, I am pretty sure it will forever be a one of a kind.

I also made some things for my Mamaw-in-law and my pseudo-sister-in-law that I need to get pictures of.  Coming soon!

My new Christmas gift

I never thought I would be this excited to get a gift that goes in a space I can call my own.  A space in the corner of the laundry room, next to a water heater and furnace.  I am SO EXCITED!!! - and I am not being sarcastic, I really am!

For Christmas Mike got me a craft table.  I was working on a padded card table for the last several months.   I put in the only corner of the house I could find for me and just me.  It was placed between the furnace and water heater (at least it is warm).   I have grown to love my space as it has a door I can shut, a sink, floors I don't' have to worry about, and because no one is ever in there I can leave a project out and messy as long as I want.  I just shut the door without cleaning up or making it baby/child/dog proof!

My new desk/chair are only the start... I can't wait to get a few more things this week to make it my own warm little crafting paradise!

I also got this lovely organizer from my in-laws that my wonderful father in law will be hanging for me soon (as I have no idea how put this up on cinder block!)   Yes, my workspace also is surrounded by cinder block.  Did I mention my husband has a mancave - 700 squarefeet of finished space above the garrage with no major appliances... just finished walls, pool table, 52 inch TV, comforable furniture, table and chairs, need I go on.
However in it's own odd way, this desk, organizer, and little corner have made me forget about his man cave, just let mommy lock herself in the laundry room and crochet away!

Recent gifts

My co-worker recently had a precious little boy.  I had so much fun making him this hat!  I am also glad it fit him.  You forget so quickly how little their heads are!

I also made a newborn hat for Mike's best friends newborn girl (not pictured)... however when my friend Bridget saw it she asked me to make one for her daughter... how cute is this little face!!!

Last, another co-worker of mine recently ran in the Jingle Bell Run and wanted Candy Cane striped legs.

If I had all the time in the world, I think I would crochet instead of clean!

I have been loving the last couple months of crocheting.  As I always do, I have obsessed after picking up a new hobby.  Being I picked this one up right before Christmas, I have been busy busy busy making gifts!   I can't wait to post them all (with there future owners) on my blog after Christmas.  I am hoping it will spark interest and I will get some requests to re-create some of them.  I have posted a few items on my Etsy site, but they are things I have worked on that just don't' have a home.  I am excited to start to intentionally make things to sell after Christmas!  I have thought about venturing into writing some patterns for a few items I have made up but we will see!  Merry Christmas!
